| ERIC GAZIN, PRESIDENT OF AUCTION CAUSE
Eric is the President and founder of Auction Cause and also Gazin Auctions, both of which produce high-profile brand and cause marketing eBay auctions. With personal management experience in over $7 million in eBay auction
sales and over 10,000 listings, Eric is a sought-after writer, commentator, lecturer, and instructor on everything eBay and cause marketing.
His recent campaign with Kevin Bacon and Six Degrees won a viral marketing award from Marketing Sherpa in 2007. He has also worked on eBay projects with such notables as Matthew McConaughey, Gene Simmons, Garry Kasparov, Ludacris, Stephen Hawking and companies such as BMW, Diet Pepsi, Nike, GQ Magazine, Miller Lite, Dairy Queen, Ford, and L'Oreal Paris. In October 2007, he set the all-time record for largest charity auction in eBay history, with the sale of the Rush Limbaugh – Harry Reid letter for over $2.1 million. His auctions have generated over 1 billion media impressions via online, print, radio, and broadcast.
With a background in law, Eric had a successful career in international licensing in Asia for brands such as Kate Spade, Mossimo, and Little Caesar's Pizza. Later he worked as an economic researcher for the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and as Director of Sales and Marketing for International Business Law Services (IBLS), a global Internet Law company. He also served as conference director for the IBLS Strategic Global Summit For E-Commerce in 2003. One of his proudest moments in association with eBay auction management came when he spoke at the United Nations to help launch the Bernard Vidal charity art auction on eBay in November 2005, in support of the American Red Cross.
Eric has been featured multiple times on eBay Radio talking about his projects and was also recently interviewed for a podcast at AuctionBytes, the leading publication for auction news. Eric can also be heard discussing cause marketing and branding at Thatmarketingshow.com. He was the featured speaker at the Association of Fundraising Professionals Los Angeles Chapter luncheon and also spoke in 2007 at the American Marketing Association's Cause Marketing Conference and the California Association of Nonprofits Conference. He most recently spoke at The Giving Back Fund's conference on sports and philanthropy on a panel with AOL. Eric has been published in numerous sources talking about cause marketing for brands and non-profits including The Jewish Journal and CDS, and was published for 2 years in the Los Angeles-based Third Street Villager where he wrote the eBay marketing column.
